Buying Principles
September 11, 2014

RDI's Fashion Marketing Management went out for some serious window shopping. Students were asked to work individually and select a particular section/department of establishments to critique and study. There are a lot of shops in Paseo de Sta. Rosa and Nuvali's Solenad two; students walked around the park and picked stores for them to analyze.

The students are also asked to map out each boutique's location and then analyze the clustering, sizes of clothes, colors, etc. There is more to shopping than shopping. It is itemized in such a way that we are not aware we are being lured into the shops in a strategic way. We sometimes do not notice that the things we want to buy are clustered in one are; having socks kiosk near a shoe shop isn't a coincidence.

The next time you shop, look around you and check what you see near your favorite store.
