Raffles Design Students were invited to be part of the fashion show event yesterday at Diamond Hotel Philippines Ballroom titled Tingting's List: The Elegant Filipina where Ms. Tingting Cojuanco announced the top 10 most elegant Filipinas and she chose our most beloved designers Ronaldo Arnaldo, Albert Andrada, JC Buendia and Rajo Laurel to showcase their new collection that will complement and honor our elegant Filipinas. Everyone seemed so busy preparing for the show and at the same time with a feeling of excitement especially our Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing students who were asked to volunteer by their professors and joined the said event to assist, experience working at the backstage and see how the real fashion world would look like.
Hours before the show began, cocktails and food were served. Guests arrived in their very attractive evening gowns and elegant Filipinianas walking down in the carpet with their own escort and muse during the night and of course our lovely students also prepared for this event and everyone look amazing with their dress to impress, to join the crowd and talk with other guests. The crowd became busy when everybody welcomed Madam Imelda Marcos and Tingting Cojuanco's arrival in the event. Media and photographers were present to capture each special moment during the event.
The show is about to start; Guests and VIPs were starting to go in the ballroom hall and students are getting ready to help the designers dressing up the models. To start the program Edu Manzano, hosted the event, he welcomed everyone and introduced first TingTing's top 10 list most elegant Filipina where she defined these women with timeless beauty and these women made on her list included: Tootsy Angara, Ching Cruz, Gwen Garcia, Lucy Gomez, Zelda Kienle, Fortune Ledesma, Amparito Llamas Lhuiller, Mandy dela Rama, Cindy Yang and Vicky Zubiri and they walked one by one on the aisle and showed to the crowd the true Filipina beauty with their beautiful faces and dresses.
The fashion show started and designers interpret the true elegance of a Filipina by showing their beautiful creations in the runway. It was a good show and Raffles Students were so happy to be part and experience this kind of event that they will face in the fashion industry.Text by: Kimberly Concepcion
